Dear Friends,
Spring is in the air and Ostara is right around the corner!
We are excited about the changes that are manifesting
before our very eyes; both in the wonderful nature that
surrounds us and at the little mystical shop here at Air
and Fire. This newsletter is a bit more in depth than
previous letters. We have included an introduction of new
artists to the store, a glimpse at upcoming classes and
events, and a mini article. Feel free to bounce around and
let us know what you think!
We've been keeping busy these first few months of the year.
Air and Fire was at Pantheacon again. Wow, it is hard to
believe that this is our 5th year participating in this
event and we come back feeling excited like it was our
first!
We enjoyed the workshops and the opportunity to connect
with a many of you! For those of you that missed it, check
it out and do try to make it next year.

Air and Fire is pleased to welcome the following Artisans
and Authors to our shop:
Bucky and Micha: Unique locally handcrafted leather masks
done in the traditional renaissance style, embellished with
beautiful bead work.
This artistic couple also shares with us original mandala
and spiritual paintings, also nicely accented with beads
and semiprecious stones.
LaLa: Hand-painted ceramic manifestations of the Green man
in a varying array of personalities. LaLa brings each one
to life with her paintbrush. They are the perfect addition
to a forest garden.
Kayla Rose: Beautifully rendered goddess vases and collage
mirrors. The vases are created utilizing recycled glass and
handpainted individually by Kayla. They are a perfect
flower offering vase to liven up any special space.
DragonQuest Treasures: A nice high quality selection of
finished drinking horns to help get the ale flowing. She
also shares a nice array of natural wands and walking
staffs, accented with crystals and stones.
Donnice: Individually handcrafted elemental goddess
pendants, made in Boulder Creek. These Goddess pendants are
one of a kind and are beautifully represented in the
elemental colors of the goddess; Air, Fire, Water, Earth
and Spirit.
Designs by Sheri: Natural semi-precious stone, bead and
crystal earring and necklace sets in an original selection
of compositions. These handcrafted pieces offer a unique
and affordable way to express your connection to earth and
the elements.
Umi: A Local author shares two beautifully written books
with Air and Fire. " The River and the Raven: A True Story"
and
"Enlightenment Guaranteed: Zen, Bodhidharma, and Who Are
You?" Spiritual and Zen discussions with Umi.
Magical Journey: We have just acquired a magical selection
of crystal and precious stone wands, athame's and scrying
mirrors. These beautiful pieces are each unique and
powerful in their own right. They are an absolute must see
to appreciate the intensity of each piece.
As always we have a wide selection of Jewelry, Books,
Essential oils and blends, Exotic Incenses and Local Art.

Workshops & Classes at Air and Fire
Magickal Basics - 4 sessions
March 26, April 2, 9, 16
Course description;
Topics: the Ethics of Magick; the Wiccan Reed and the
Three-fold Law in depth; short History of Wicca & other
Magickal Traditions; The Web of Life with its connections,
responsibilities and privileges; many basic magickal
symbols and their uses. Intent: to develop a working
knowledge of the basic precepts of daily magical living.
•This course includes a workbook with informational
handouts and approximately
3-5 hours of study each week between classes.
•Students must commit to the full course and pay the class
fee. Payment arrangements can be made with Air & Fire.
•All students are accepted at the discretion of the
instructor

• Wicca for the Solitary Practitioner by Scott Cunningham •
Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler

This course must have 7 enrolled students to begin as
scheduled. The Maximum number of students for this course
is 13.

The instructor:
J’té Argent is a practicing Feri Priestess in Santa Cruz
County. She has been active in the Wiccan community for
more than thirteen years. She is a visual artist,
illustrator and co-owner of Wyldwood Press, Inc. and sole
owner of ArgentArt.

Air and Fire is planning the next series of Body, Mind and
Spirit workshops. These will be posted as soon as they are
confirmed.
BMS , as we like to call it, is an evening when we gather
together in our store, sit on nice comfy pillows, drink
tea and discuss the evenings topic.
The evening is facilitated by Emelia and Jennifer. We
occasionally have invited guest speakers discussing
interesting topics . We strive to make the BMS setting a
relaxed and friendly occasion for sharing and learning.
It does not matter if you are a stranger to the topic, you
are welcome. Perhaps you are a resource of experience and
knowledge on the evenings topic, you are welcome. We feel
that the body , mind and spirit are separate but equally
important parts of the whole, which makes us what we are.
With that awareness we can make our journey that much more
interesting and perhaps better as we live our lives. We
only ask that you come in a spirit of community and
respect.
We have much to learn from each other and much to share!

What is Reiki?
Rei in Japanese means spirit. And ki means life force
energy.
Reiki is an ancient energetic art of natural healing,
rediscovered and re-introduced in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui
over one hundred years ago. Reiki was brought to the United
States in the early part of the 1900's, via Hawaii and
Reiki initiate Hawayo Takata.
Reiki is a gentle but powerful ‘hands-on’ technique which
brings wholeness to both recipient and practitioner. We are
alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force
flows within the physical body through pathways called
chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a
field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the
organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their
vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted,
it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs
and tissues of the physical body. Reiki energetically
restores the natural balance of the body , providing deep
relaxation and bringing a sense of peace and well-being. It
is called Universal Life Energy because it draws upon the
healing energy of the universe rather than the energy of
the practitioner. Reiki is said to heal the physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our whole being.
It complements the healing properties of other traditions
and healing practices including orthodox medicine and more
natural therapies such as herbs and aromatherapy. Reiki is
compatible with other magickal traditions as described by
Christopher Penczak in his book "Magick of Reiki". Those of
you who had the opportunity to attend his lectures at
Pantheacon will attest to the fluidity of this traditional
practice. Reiki is not intrusive since the energy will pass
through any physical layers and the recipient remains
clothed. The technique of Reiki can be used on animals,
plants, buildings, cars, people and places - in fact you
can use your Reiki in any situation you desire. To benefit
from Reiki you need only be open and willing to receive the
energy and to channel it.
